My Favorite Photos of 2022

I recently used the top nine function that appears on Instagram this time of year. It came up with this selection from my Instagram feed.

I like the selection their algorithm chose. But what are my true favourites?

In no particular order here are my personal favourites from the year.

Camera: Lubitel 2 (not yet reviewed)
Film: Ilford HP5

Camera: Ricoh FF7-D
Film: Ilford HP5

Camera: Mobile phone, Galaxy A51 5G
Film: Digital 🙂

Camera: Holga 135 (Holga Week submission)
Film: Exeter Pan XX 400

Camera: Olympus OM40
Film: Ilford XP2

Camera: Canon IV sb2
Film: Ilford HP5

Camera: Sony RX100
Film: digital 🙂

Camera: Canonet
Film: Agfa APX400

Camera: Minolta Riva Zoom 105i
Film: Ilford FP4

What is interesting to me, most of the films used were Ilford and in particular HP5. I am quite eclectic when it comes to film, picking based on speed rather than type. But this selection clearly shows I have a preference for Ilford as a brand.

Anyway, that is definitely it for the year. Here’s to 2023. I hope you all have a safe holiday season and are fit and healthy for the new year and beyond.

For a moment there, on first glance, I wondered why your nine featured one of “my” photos. I guess we have a similar eye:

    Bushes and buildings

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you! 🙂

A fine, varied selection of subjects and techniques. Who says razor-sharpness is a must requirement of good photography! Wishing you a happy Christmas and a peaceful week of rest.
