Chinon AP700S

This is an APS double exposure day!

I saw this camera for sale on Facebook Marketplace. It was £15 but came loaded with half a roll unexposed and 3 unused films. I didn’t need the camera, but felt I could not pass up the film at that price. It even came with the instructions, where you can find all the technical details. You can also look at this website; there isn’t much else on the net.

I finished the part-used film, developed it, and sent the results to the original owner. Then I loaded one of the fresh rolls and shot it on a camping trip to the beach.

After that, I sent it to a friend to reshoot the film. I didn’t tell her much about what I had shot, just said, “background stuff”.

Here are most of the results.

I love the textures on these. The camera just worked. It was small enough to slip into a pocket, a perfect point-and-shoot.

I probably won’t get another APS camera unless I see a bargain like this. It is perfect for this kind of project. I also sent my friend one of the unused films, so she is going to shoot it and send it on to someone new to double it. It will be a camera that will keep on moving…if we can film any film that is.

    Ooh! Those are wiggy!
In a totally most ex-cel-lent way; first three especially just flat kill.

First, apologies for my gormless and plonkish mumble of a reply above.

It ignores the vibrancy and hard-edged strength of images 1 through 3 that vibrate with dynamic tension.

Though independently made, each second-exposure layer complements the first perfectly, making a glowing and pulsing – a quivering – third thing of radiant warmth

What a puzzle! they convince the viewer that two talented persons worked carefully and exactly to align consonance of vision and make them, that it could not have been otherwise.
