I had already tried this camera back when I lived in Japan. I got that example for $3, I got this one for £19 so an increase but still a bargain for this camera. I have been looking at panoramic cameras since I used my friend’s Nikon AF600. When this camera popped up on eBay, I put on the minimum bid and expected to watch it fall through my fingers, but nobody else bid. Maybe the in-crowd has moved on to digicams?
My gain though.

I quickly loaded it with a roll of film I received from a reader in America, a Kodak Vision 200T repackaged as “The Light 200”.
I took it with me on a walk around a gallery refurbishment, a soon-to-be-demolished building (I think) in Blackpool and a camping trip to a farm in the North Yorkshire Moors.
Here are the blue results.

I really like the panoramas, which is good seeing as it was the reason I bought the camera.
I am definitely keeping this example and hopefully making more panoramas.
Many folks love panoramas … that love has driven up the price of the FujiGX617 to $8,000!
Not tryin’ to be ugly, but … is there one square foot of English urban wall left that has NOT been defaced with graffiti? Your pristine countryside has, thank the Lord, so far not been “improved” by the spraycan artists.
To be fair, I do look for it as I like it. But I think it might be a task to find a clean wall. I will look for some on my next outing.
Great shots!!! Those little Olympus cameras do a fine job … I have the US version a Stylus Epic, but it’s lost in my house somewhere … one day I’ll find it!!!
Find it!!
Mmmmm, is it a bit odd of me to say that camera doesn’t suit the film.
I usually like the blue hue of tungsten film in natural light but not this one. Maybe its more blue than others, am not sure. I have a feeling B&W will suit it better particularly in panorama mode. Can’t quantify that, just a feeling
Am glad my Af600 inspired you, it kinda completes the circle so to speak. I was the lucky recipient of that original $3 mju you had.
I don’t feel the difference between its 28mm lens and the mju’s 35mm make much difference to the panorama effect.
Tho really hope I get to see some black and whites with this camera in panorama mode.
I loved what you produced with my af600. Using it in a way I’d never thought of
Coooooor as my blog comments go this is an essay.
Yeap to be sure, I will take some black and whites, but I have quite a stash of expired film and waste not etc.
