Photo Post: Using the Holga 35mm adapter in a 120 Holga

I put this adapter down on my Emulsive Secret Santa wish list and come Christmas day, there it was. It took me a while to get around to using it as I tend to use my Holgas around Holga Week time in October. But one random day, I opened the package and took a look.

It installed into and onto the 120 Holga very easily. Then, I realised how..erm..unnecessary it was. It occurred to me that I have a Holga 135 so why did I need an adapter for a 120? Well, at the time of putting it on my wish list, I thought it would stabilize the film and still expose the sprockets. It did do the former but not the latter. So in terms of using a toy camera, it kind of took away some of the experience from me. The sticker on the winder with the numbers worked well, but I did have to take note of what number I was on, as some of the areas had more than one choice.

The resulting photos, taken on HP5 around Newton Kyme, are a bit meh. I would have preferred to have used the Holga 135, a general 120 adapter that showed the sprockets or the 120 with 120 film.

Eventually, I lost my enthusiasm for the project as you can see in the final selfie. I switched the film to another camera. In order to do that, I had to put the camera in a dark bag. There was no way to rewind the film in-camera so opening the back to retrieve it would have fogged it.

So, if anyone wants the adapter just send me a message via the contact form and I will send it to you free of charge if you are in the UK. I might not like it, but maybe you will.
