There is no point in writing all the ways this has been a hell of a year, it’s obvious. But just when you thought the year couldn’t get any worse, something comes along to remind you it could. It could be a lot worse in the blink of an eye.
Recently I have been following a photographer from Lebanon and she posted this message of hope which struck a cord with me.

In this account you will see amazing videos of the devastation and one in reverse following the explosion back to the beginning. They are breathtaking.
Immediately when I saw the images coming from Beirut, I thought of the explosion in Halifax that I have read about. This article compares the two events.
And after all that I return to the first message, of hope. Hope is the power we need to get through the day.
