My good friend Holly has struggled with her love of photography of late. But luckily for me, it has returned…or maybe not lucky for me as she has nearly all of my filters and one of my cameras 🙂 I know I will get them back this summer when I force her out some more.
Funnily, I was talking about her today with some non-photo friends. I was explaining how I contacted her via Instagram without really knowing her. I just really liked her feed. I knew I would be near where she lived soon, so I messaged her to offer her some cameras to borrow. Then I just turned up at her house. She was lovely, and we got on straight away. But in reality, I guess it was a bit weird to message someone out of the blue and say, “Hey, stranger, I am coming to your house with a bag of cameras, let me in!”
Anyway, read more about her journey here. If she keeps posting about photography, I might have to add her to my ‘feed from other blogs’
I’m envious of anyone who still HAS their old “darkroom stuff”. Sure do miss my Omega D-series enlarger, and the aroma of Dektol in the nighttime.
I am envious of people who have the space. I have an enlarger, but nowhere to put it.
You are welcome to set it up in our basement … it’s an unfinished but conditioned space ready for framing and plumbing. If I were a few years younger, I’d have built a darkroom down there already … [sigh]
That would be lovely, but a heck of a commute 😀
A funny story 😄 The “Hello stranger…” part made me smile.
It’s really the modern way now isn’t it. You meet and interact online then, safely, meet in real life. Some people, me, just get a little enthusiastic 😀
