The Million Mark and Plans for 2023

I don’t know if anyone has noticed the little site counter at the bottom of each page and post…

But look at that number! I think this week the number will roll over to a million hits. My little blog will have a million hits!

WordPress and jetpack allow you to look at your stats in a number of ways. I do check them out of curiosity, but the last year was amazing in terms of numbers for this blog.

The number of views practical doubled. I think it really shows that film photography is more popular than ever.

But I want to thank each and every one of you. Anyone who has read a post, commented on a post, sent me film or a camera, bought me a coffee through Paypal or Kofi, or bought a camera from me. You have all kept this blog going.

As you know I am a full-time teacher of very little people, we don’t make much money but we have fun while not doing so. We earn more hugs than cash. I make no money from this blog and all the work is done by me in my spare time, I couldn’t afford to pay someone even if I wanted to 🙂 As such this year is going to see a few changes. For the next six months, I am not buying any cameras or film…I know I have said this before, but this time it is not forever, just for six months or until the start of the summer holidays.

The reason for this, covid, the cost of living and car issues have meant my debt has increased. I want and need to pay it off. It isn’t a lot and if nothing major happens I should be set for the summer holidays. Not that this has anything to do with anyone else, but I want to write it down in public so I will stick to it. I have a box of untried cameras and a freezer drawer full of film. There should be no disruption to this blog or my hobby.

I am going to be adding some limited edition prints for sale to the zines page, it has said under construction for too long. I will also try and make a few more zines or books too.

Anyway, thank you if you have read this far. I appreciate any and all interactions.

Especially you…you know who you are 🙂

Indeed I do 😅 I’ve got approximately 150 rolls of mostly expired film in my fridge, they’ll do for quite a long, long while.

Congratulations indeed! Considering how many analog / film blogs exist, and how many YT videos are available on this topic, please recognize that it is the consistent quality of your output that keeps us coming back, and spreading the word.

Not quite the start but mid 2016 I reckon. My favourite photography blog by far.
    Have enjoyed watching you journey
