Photo Post: Holga Week 2022

It is coming to the end of the year and I have been very busy with work and ‘stuff’. As with most places this time of year, there are a few bugs going around and children are very susceptible to them. They love to sneeze and cough all over their teachers. This means many teachers have been off sick, which has increased the workload and stress for those of us who remain standing. With that and the traditional festive activities, I haven’t been able to write any reviews. I have cameras strewn all over my floor waiting for their turn. So basically, there might not be any posts until school ends and I can collapse in a heap of Baileys and chocolate.

Talking of chocolate, someone bought me chocolate this week, thanks very much…I need it. A few people also purchase a zine from Magcloud, thank you too. That has bought me the much-needed Bailey’s and a roll of film…ooh, soup a roll in alcohol?? Nah, waste of both. If you would like to contribute to my chocolate fund, please head over to the stuff page.

Anyway, I entered Holga week again this year. The winners have been announced and it wasn’t me 🙂

I had fun taking part, but as always, I wish it was in the summer when the days are longer and less rainy and I am on holiday. I had to scramble around on the one day I was free and find something to photo. Maybe next year I will plan to do something indoors and use flashes. That will give me more opportunities throughout the week.

I took 2 films in 2 cameras. The first was the 35bc with a bulk-rolled 35mm, Exeter 400. I submitted this shot.

I really liked it. Here are some more from the roll.

The other submissions were from a Holga Pinhole. I did run out of time for this one and it was raining so I took some shots in my garage and house. I submitted these two shots.

I liked those too. So I don’t mind if I didn’t win, I ended up having fun which was the point for me.

Here are some others from the pinhole roll.

I hope you are all staying healthy and here’s to the end of the year…and the football 🙂

Received my ‘new’ Holga a week or so ago. Popped in a roll of Lomochrome Turquoise and used half while the weather was nice. Loving it but not sure when it’ll be decent enough light for the rest.

Holga week was rainy 5 of the 7 days here in the US, I did manage to use my Holga 6×12 for a roll. Nothing as nice as your results though!!!

Oh shame, and thanks. They were all a bit hit and miss…the horses were too excited by the mints we had for them.

Great photos, it’s hard to believe the horse face details are taken with a Holga they are so clear!

I also didn’t win, but like you I like my results.

Looking forward to your Christmas photos.
