Here is the thing…

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum…

Firstly, I did sell a few cameras and books. That helped out very much. Thank you to all my followers and supporters, I can’t thank you enough.

Then, I kind of walked into a part time job, which earns me enough to keep me in film and fun right now. Not lots, I won’t be buying a Leica or anything. It was lucky really. I had an assignment for one half day in a school working 1-2-1 with a young chap and it turned out we had met before and had a working relationship. That made him feel comfortable with me, calmed him down and made everything in the class so much easier for the teacher. So, they asked me back for as long as I could/would. I even got a small raise on the half day rate. I figured a part time job is better than no job at all, which is were I was two weeks ago. Plus just working in the mornings means I have afternoons free to play in the sunshine with cameras.

Then after that last post a couple of readers offered me cameras, even though I said I was moving away from that type of post. AND a couple of friends also gave me some cameras on the spur of the moment.

Basically, that means I have a few more cameras to try and a bit more money to buy film. Not lots, but I wanted to let you know…I am keeping my cameras for now 🙂

I am still up for swaps though 😉

      I was reluctant to take it as I would prefer full day work, more pay. But it just wasn’t coming in. So don’t look a gift horse in the mouth!

    Why, absolute tailor-made Karma, just for you. And lucky we may thereby soon see more new startling, just a bit off-center, not-to-be-found-anywhere-else posts, as in: who else on the entire, globe-spanning interthing does not bin a plastic camera with a big hole in its carapace but fits it with a stout leather breastplate like the veteran it is? Yowsah!

        Why, thanks, but alas no; I’m a whole Atlantic away.

        I’d brought up the shadows in Ahab’s image with P’shop, just to see the extent of damage, then looked about and thought about using those cheap moldable thermoplastic sheets and maybe Sugru to rebuild the whole missing area (retaining the leather covering, of course, for the panache). Little project for a rainy day. It’s a good camera.
